Jack Mac is Back!
Almost a decade ago, I wrote and published At This Point in My Life, a mystery featuring retired police detective Jack McCrae. I saw it as a standalone title. And, to be fair, it stayed that way for nine years.
But not anymore.
Today, I’m releasing All That This Life Requires, the second McCrae mystery. In fact, it is only 99 cents for the first week of its release, so grab it fast.
What’s this one about?
Detective Jack “Mac” McCrae has lost his hero. Without children or any family, the retired detective takes the death of his mentor hard. When the man’s son reaches out to Mac with a mysterious letter containing a startling confession, asking for his help, Mac finds he can’t say no.
He interprets the cryptic letter and begins to search for answers. Who did his hero wrong? And why?
Mac’s investigation reveals a decades-old case in which a bad man was sent to prison. But was it right or wrong? Just or corrupt? And regardless of the answers to those questions, a larger one looms — what to do now?
Mac discovers that some answers can lead to harder questions… and at times, this life requires even more from us.
This book contains some hard questions about morality, and justice. And it asks you, the reader, those same questions. In other words, what would you do?

This won’t be the last of Jack McCrae. I’m planning for this series to be at least a trilogy. So watch out because Jack Mac will be back… in 2023!
